Projector cell phone for video chatting (or sharing viral videos):
Combination cell phone and palm pilot, complete with USB file sharing and charging capability, stylus and writing pad.

Here's a more feminine cell phone with a distinctive shape so one cannot lose it in one 's purse (a rather annoying issue when the darn thing is ringing and you can't find it amidst all the other shtuff you've shoved in there).

Yaaaaay.

Trying more new styles... again... someday I SHALL find one I like, which does not take me six hours to do! Also, I will ride a unicorn to Australia. Yeah.

I think using the pen tool to get clean edges and selections is my favorite method so far, but it is also the most time consuming, so I'm trying not to use it on these backpacks.

Watch Sketches

A-Level watch sketches. Only a couple of these were actually used for the renders; mostly I employed the path and marquee tools for those and did not base them off the sketches in more than idea.

It occurs to me that I have lost the sketch for the triangular watch. Oh noes!

Baby Monitors

Trying some different marker styles, sorry they don't look so hot on the computer, all the light grays tend to disappear.
First style: Formulaic. Application according to a simple plan I worked out last quarter, starting with highlights and using basic cube shading with pencil outlines. I thought it would be brilliant to have a web-cam baby monitor. Then I realized that would just be a web-cam. Oh well.
Second Style: Similar to the first, but with darker, thicker outlines done in marker. Looks worse than first method on paper, but transfers more easily to a digital medium. The idea for this monitor was that you could also play music on it by putting the files on the accompanying flash drive, then set it to lullaby mode so that the music got gradually quieter and quieter.
Third style: Faster application of color, looser (or nonexistent) outlines. Eh, I don't really like this one, I think it may be my least favorite. His head is supposed to bobble, there is a camera in the yarn ball that can be adjusted and microphones in his ears, plus a pocket-able monitor.
Fourth style: I like the Orwell the Eyeball better than his little brother Winston. This seems like a pretty good balance of color, outline, and gray scale. Yes, they're a little creepy, but really they're just looking out for you. Oh, and those deelybobs on their heads are a microphone and a little speaker, respectively.
Fifth style: Sin City style? I need a lighter red marker. This doesn't look so hot on paper, but without any light grays it translates really well to the computer screen. I think part of that is because scanning it in mellowed out the red, which was really garishly bright. The idea for this one is a pulse monitor for a baby's wrist with a matching bracelet for mom or dad that will vibrate and make loud noises if the child's heart is having trouble.

Ideas for non-conventional baby monitors. I particularly like Orville, who is based off a small fuzzy toy my mom had as a child which "kept an eyeball out for monsters" and let her sleep safely.

Steampunk goggles, yo. They do nothing.

Actually, they magnify and have an adjuster for the headband. Pretty shoes, more an exercise in digital rendering than anything else.
First time painting experience in photoshop, woo! I'll be trying to improve my technique, though I don't think this is too bad for an initial attempt.
